Message from the President

Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Competition Council has begun fulfilling its mandate with a new composition, following the appointments approved by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, under the presidential decree of 18 February 2025.
This renewal aims to strengthen the Council’s role in regulating competition in the national market and to give fresh impetus to competition policy, recognized as a structural policy and a key pillar for establishing a diversified, productive, and competitive national economy that supports sustainable development goals in line with constitutional requirements and the President’s commitments.
On this occasion, I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of the Competition Council — an interactive platform designed to foster transparency and engagement with all institutional, legal, economic, and social stakeholders.
The Competition Council is an independent administrative authority responsible for ensuring free and fair competition and for combating restrictive practices, including monopolies, collusion, and abuse of dominant positions. These efforts are essential to building a fair and competitive national economy grounded in equal opportunity, fostering innovation, and improving the quality of goods and services for the benefit of Algerian consumers.
We are fully committed to implementing Ordinance No. 03-03 of 19 July 2003, as amended and supplemented, and we continuously work to enhance our tools and mechanisms to address current economic challenges, guided by a solid strategic vision and an action plan aligned with the priorities set by the country’s highest authorities.
The Council’s website provides comprehensive information on our missions, decisions, and procedures for submitting complaints, notifications of economic concentrations, or requests for opinions. We encourage all stakeholders to reach out and share their suggestions and insights with the Council. We firmly believe that collective participation is vital to building a transparent, competitive, and equitable economic environment, in line with the new approach and economic roadmap adopted by the national leadership.
In conclusion, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to transparency, integrity, and serving the public interest. We invite everyone to collaborate with us to establish and uphold the principles of fair competition in the Algerian market.
Professor Ahmed Dkhinissa
President of the Competition Council
