The Competition Council has begun to carry out its missions in its new composition, in accordance with the appointments approved by the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, under Presidential Decree dated 19 Sha’ban 1446 AH, corresponding to February 18, 2025, concerning the appointment of members to the Competition Council, which aims to activate the Council with a view to giving decisive impetus to competition policy, as a structural policy and a fundamental pillar for the establishment of a competitive, productive, and diversified economy within the framework of sustainable development based on constitutional requirements.
This Decree also aims to revive an emerging economy, a goal pursued by the public authorities, in line with the commitments of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE.
In its current mandate, the Competition Council is working to help build effective economic governance by activating and consolidating competition mechanisms, with the support of other institutional, economic, and social stakeholders.
The Council’s missions will be implemented through a strategic plan and an action plan tailored to the State’s objectives, imposed priorities, and the constraints related to the context in which they are carried out.
The Council will strive to work within a transparent and effective framework, engaging in productive interaction with institutional, legal, economic, and social stakeholders.
This is the ambition and commitment of the Council and its President in carrying out the missions for which it was established.
